Athole Still is one the most respected managers in the UK. Educated at Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen, he graduated with a Master of Arts in Modern Languages from Aberdeen University, before going on to attend the Guildhall and Morley College Opera Studio in London as an external student, while simultaneously pursuing a flourishing career as a freelance sports commentator (former Olympic swimmer) and journalist.
He performed over 20 leading principal tenor roles with companies throughout the UK, before his major debut as The Simpleton Boris Godunov and Almaviva Il Barbiere di Siviglia for Scottish Opera, and later Erste Geharnischte Die Zauberflöte, Macduff Macbeth and Rodolfo La Bohème for both Glyndebourne Festival and Glyndebourne Touring Opera. He subsequently won a Major Award in Music of the City of London, which enabled him to embark on a year-long period of study in Naples.
In 1982 he established Rawstron Still Management Partnership, which in 1988 evolved into Athole Still International, an agency devoted to sport and opera, reflecting Athole's two life-long passions.
In 2007 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Aberdeen in recognition of his contribution to the world of sport and opera.
Christopher Broom is a graduate of York University, and a postgraduate of both Trinity College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music in London. He worked as vocal coach and repetiteur for several theatres in France and Germany, before joining Athole Still in 1995 as Artist Manager. Christopher swiftly developed extremely productive relationships with artists and theatres alike underpinned by his extensive knowledge of voices and repertoire. He was appointed Director of Opera in 1999.
Tamara is an Italian graduate in Copyright Law of the RomaTre University in Rome, where she then undertook the MA in Arts & Heritage Management.
Having studied singing in Italy with Liliana Pacinotti and Adriana Morelli, and thus being the third generation of opera singers in her family, she always tried to combine Opera and the Law in both her education and professional experience.
As a performer, Tamara sang in the chorus as well as a soloist, especially for sacred and contemporary music, and also worked as stage director and assistant stage director for companies and theatres such as Teatro Quirino in Rome and Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.
As a lawyer, she worked in Italy as freelance consultant for both musicians and promoters in the organization of music competitions, operas and concerts.
Tamara speaks fluent Spanish and is now based in London, where she moved to undertake the LLM Entertainment Law at the University of Westminster, which also awarded her a full scholarship to participate to the Leisure, Entertainment and Governance Erasmus Course at the NTNU University of Trondheim, Norway.
Tamara joined Athole Still Opera in June 2009.
Born in North Wales, Simon Roberts is a graduate and ARAM of the Royal Academy of Music in London. His management career began in 2003, as assistant to the late Gian-Carlo Menotti, and casting consultant to several international festivals and organisations, including the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto and the Orchestra of the Juilliard School of Music. Simon is fluent in five European languages and resides in London, having previously lived in The Netherlands and Italy. He joined Athole Still Opera in 2008.
