Jane Harrington Soprano
An accomplished and charismatic young soprano, Jane Harrington’s most recent successes have included MORGANA Alcina for Opera Theatre Company Ireland, VARVARA Káťa Kabanová for English Touring Opera, CUPID Orpheus in the Underworld for Opera Holland Park and VIRTU/AMOR L’incoronazione di Poppea for English National Opera. Her European debut also came in 2009 as MUSETTA La Boheme in Spain, and she is scheduled to cover the role of SUSANNA Le Nozze di Figaro for Scottish Opera later in 2010.

After initially training as an actress, Jane graduated from the Opera Course at the Royal Academy of Music, gaining a distinction for performance with roles including PAMINA Die Zauberflöte, conducted by Sir Colin Davis. Invitations quickly followed, with particular highlights including LITTLE MOON A Night at the Chinese Opera for Scottish Opera, ADELE Die Fledermaus, BRIGOMEDIE/THE ANGEL/MINNA in Three water plays by Detlev Glanert for Almeida Opera, BELINDA Dido and Aeneas and FIGLIA Jephta by Carissimi, and JANO Jenufa for ETO. Other significant appearances have included MADAME SILBERKLANG Der Schauspieldirektor and MRS GOBINEAU The Medium for Second Movement Opera, as well as MARINA School for Fathers for Clonter Opera. She has also covered the roles of SAVITRI Savitri by Gustav Holst and BARONESS Der Wildshütz for Buxton Festival Opera.
An already impressive concert schedule has included appearances with the London Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra, as Soprano Soloist in Raymond Gubbay’s Viennese Gala at the Barbican Hall. In addition she sang Poulenc’s Gloria at Cadogan Hall, and has also been featured on BBC Radio 3.
