With several significant recent European highlights to her credit, including ROSALINDE Die Fledermaus in Vienna, The Turn of the Screw in Dessau, ELISABETTA Don Carlos and Marie The Bartered Bride for Theater Darmstadt, BLUMENMÄDCHEN Parsifal in Darmstadt, the covers of LIU and MISS JESSEL / The Turn of the Screw for English National Opera, British soprano Allison Oakes is developing an admirable European career. Her upcoming engagements in fact include her debut in Italy as MISS JESSEL for Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, as well as her role debut as ELSA Lohengrin in Regensburg.

Her upcoming engagements in fact include her debut in Italy as MISS JESSEL for Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, as well as her role debut as ELSA Lohengrin in Regensburg.

Allison Oakes began her vocal studies at the Birmingham Conservatoire of Music in Great Britain and went on to complete her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, Weimar. During her studies, Allison sang many roles ranging from baroque to contemporary opera and also became a Licentiate of the London College of Music. She began to gain the attention of both critics and public alike by winning the Robert Stolz Opera/Operetta Concours in Hamburg in 2004, going on to receive scholarships from the Schubert Society and the Wagner Association in Germany.

In 2006 she became a member of the Staatstheater Darmstadt where here roles have included TOSCA, LEONORA Il Trovatore, MARIE The Bartered Bride, COUNTESS in Wiener Blut.

Guest engagements during this time took her the Theater Heilbronn for roles such as TOSCA and MICAELA, the Theater Erfurt for AGATA in Le Cantatrici Villane, the Prinzregententheater Munich and the Theater Ingolstadt for the CONTESSA ALMAVIVA Le nozze di Figaro.

Her concert and recital repertoire is broad and comprehensive, and she has also taken part in international Masterclasses with Françoise Pollet, Judith Beckmann, Jakob Stämpfli and Thomas Hampson.
