Elena Sancho-Pereg Soprano
Winner of the Concurso Internacional de Logroño 2010, Spanish soprano Elena Sancho’s most recent engagements include SOFIA Il Signor Bruschino at the Peacock Theatre for British Youth Opera, MUSETTA La Bohème in Spain, THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND L’Assedio di Calais, L’ENSOLEILLAD Cherubin, and MISS WORDSWORTH Albert Herring at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Born in San Sebastian, Elena graduated at Escuela Superior de Canto de Madrid in 2007 studying with Ramon Regidor, and has now completed her Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Her studies at GMSD have been kindly supported by Guidhall Trust and Diputación de Guipuzcoa. In the summer 2010 Elena will attend the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, Italy.
Operatic roles include BASTIENNE Bastian und Bastienne, BLONDE Die Entführung aus dem Serrail, MARIE Cendrillon, MADAME HERZ and MADAME SILBERKLANG Der Schauspieldirektor, EURIDICE La Favola d’Orfeo, LOUISE La Vie Parisienne, ERSTE DAME Die Zauberflöte and FANNY La Cambiale di Matrimonio.
On the Oratorio platform, Elena has performed many German and Italian classical and baroque masterworks, such as Mozart’s Requiem, Coronation Mass, and Litaniae de Venerabili Altaris Sacramento, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Michael Haydn’s Vespers in F, Vivaldi’s Gloria and made her debut last April with London Handel Festival singing Handel’s Messiah.
Elena made her debut at the Barbican with the London Symphony Orchestra in Alasdair Nicholson’s Two sisters, A rose, A flood and Snow; Four Tales of Enchantment.
She has performed several times on Spanish Public TV for the musical show “El Conciertazo” introduced by Fernando Argenta. Elena Sancho has been awarded prizes by the Juventudes Musicales de Madrid, and has won the Hispánica Constructora Accésit Prize, The Operatic Role Prize in the Luis Mariano Competition XI Edition, and The Silk Street Award 2009/10.
