Athanasia Zöhrer

Athanasia Zöhrer’s current and future projects include PAMINA Die Zauberflöte Opéra de Montpellier, ADINA L’Elisir d’amore Oper Leipzig and MICAELA Carmen Theater Kiel. Plans to sing ZERLINA Don Giovanni, ÄNNCHEN Der Freischütz, MARZELLINE Fidelio and NAJADE Ariadne auf Naxos at Staatsoper Hamburg and MICAELA Staatstheater Kassel were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Important past appearances have included VIRGINIA Das Gespenst von Canterville and Brahms Requiem Volksoper Wien, Weihnachtsoratorium – Szenen einer schlaflosen Nacht Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, SUSANNA Le nozze di Figaro and PAMINA Semperoper Dresden, SUSANNA Nationaltheater Weimar, GRETEL Hänsel und Gretel Salzburger Landestheater in performances at the Felsenreitschule, BLUMENMÄDCHEN Parsifal and TOCHTER DER PODOTSCHINA/SOPRANSOLO Die Nase Staatsoper Hamburg and PAMINA Staatstheater Nürnberg and Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz.

Athanasia was a member of the ensemble of Staatsoper Hannover, where she sang roles such as PAMINA, GRETEL, SUSANNA, ADINA L’elisir d’amore, OSCAR Un Ballo in Maschera, SERVILIA La Clemenza di Tito, ÄNNCHEN Der Freischütz and NANETTA Falstaff.

Athanasia was born in Berlin and studied singing at the Julius Stern Institut of Universität der Künste Berlin and at the Mozarteum Salzburg. At the Bundesgesangswettbewerb 2014 she won the prize of the three Berlin opera houses. In 2022 she was a finalist of the Francesco-Vinas Competition in Barcelona.
