Northern Irish baritone Ben McAteer’s future and recent highlights include DON MAGNIFICO La Cenerentola Nederlandse Reisopera, FALKE Die Fledermaus Irish National Opera and Grange Festival, DANCAÏRE Carmen Irish National Opera, LEPORELLO Don Giovanni Pfalztheater Kaisersalutern, MAD HAT, DUCK Alice in Wonderland Opéra de Nice and Theater an der Wien, PANGLOSS Candide Theater an der Wien, FANINAL Der Rosenkavalier Garsington Opera, SIR WALTER RALEIGH The Critic Wexford Festival and next season, will make his debut at the Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden.

Past engagements include EARL OF MOUNTARARAT Iolanthe English National Opera, THE GRAND INQUISITOR The Gondoliers, KING PARAMOUNT Utopia Limited and FIGARO Le Nozze di Figaro Scottish Opera, and MALATESTA Don Pasquale, COUNT ALMAVIVA Le Nozze di Figaro, SCHAUNARD La Bohème, MARCHESE D’OBIGNY La Traviata, and BLAZES The Lighthouse Irish National Opera. He sang FATHER Hansel and Gretel English National Opera at Regents Park Open Air Theatre, GORYANCHIKOV The House of the Dead Welsh National Opera, and EISENSTEIN Die Fledermaus, and PAPAGENO The Magic Flute Northern Ireland Opera.

Concert work includes Szymanowski’s Stabat Mater National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra with Marin Alsop in Katowice and Brussels., Carmina Burana Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Elijah and Haydn’s Creation Ulster Orchestra, Beethoven’s Symphony No 9 Toscanini Festival, Parma, Candide and Schumann’s Das Paradies und die Peri Hamburg Symphoniker, and Die Tote Stadt National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.

Ben features on a number of CD releases, including Maltworms & Milkmaids, a collection of orchestral songs by Peter Warlock with the BBC Concert Orchestra, a new recording of La Bohème from Irish National Opera, and a collection of newly discovered songs by Irish composer Ina Boyle.
