Florian Panzieri

French-English tenor Florian Panzieri is currently a member of the International Opera Studio at the Staatsoper Hamburg. During the 23/24 season, he will be performing the roles of HOLY FOOL Boris Godunov, PONG Turandot, VICTORIN Die tote Stadt, REVEREND ADAMS Peter Grimes, SECOND JEW Salome and BORSA Rigoletto. He recently sang PETER QUINT The Turn of the Screw for the Teatro Reggio Emilia.

Florian’s 22/23 season in Hamburg included ERASMUS in the world premiere of Johannes Harneit’s Silvesternacht, VENDITORE DI CANZONETTE Il Tabarro, CAPITANO DEI BALESTIERI Simon Boccanegra, ERSTE VORARBEITER Lady Macbeth von Mzensk, PREMIER GARDE Manon and DON QUIXOTTE in a newly curated collection of Telemann’s work Die Kuh.

Past engagements have included PRIMO PASTORE Orfeo and PETER QUINT (cover) The Turn of the Screw Garsington Festival Opera, BRIGHELLA The Little Green Swallow by Jonathan Dove GSMD, MARZIO Mitridate Garsington, DON OTTAVIO Don Giovanni Merry Opera, BERTHOLD Scoring a Century British Youth Opera, and TELEMACHUS (cover) The Return of Ulysses Royal Opera House.

Concert work has included PELLÉAS Pelléas et Melisande London City Orchestra, Soloist with the LA Philharmonic conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, concert of English Song with Iain Burnside, Tippett’s Spirituals for the London Symphony Orchestra Sing-in Day, Britten’s Canticles with Graham Johnson’s Song Guild, and the Serenade for Tenor and Horn with the West Sussex Orchestra.

Florian was born in Paris, moving to Brighton at a young age. He attended Lancing College as a Music and Drama scholar, before reading History and Politics at the University of Warwick. Whilst at Warwick, Florian directed, starred in and translated a plethora of operas and musicals, all whilst under the tutelage of John Graham-Hall.
