English baritone Jacob Phillips is currently a member of the ensemble of the Tiroler Landestheater where roles include SCHAUNARD La Bohème, CONTE Le Nozze di Figaro and LYSANDER The Fairy Queen. In the summer of 2024 he will be singing Gianni Schicchi (title role) with Bregenzer Festspiele.
Past projects have included MARULLO Rigoletto Opera Holland Park, MARCELLO La Bohème Hurn Court Opera, FIRST MATE Billy Budd Enescu International Festival, NICK SHADOW The Rake’s Progress (Trevor Pinnock, Frederic Wake-Walker), Gianni Schicchi (title role) and CONTE Royal Academy Opera CONTE and ZUNIGA Carmen Opera Holland Park. He sang extracts from Le nozze di Figaro at the Linbury Theatre at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and BELCORE L’Elisir d’amore West Green Opera.
On the concert platform, he was a soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass Cadogan Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem King’s College, Cambridge and sang the title role in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Jacob graduated with first class honours from the Royal Academy of Music, where he studied with Mark Wildman and Ingrid Surgenor.
