"Linda, the aforementioned sister, sings in only one scene, a sardonic setting of words by Julian of Norwich, (...) Marta Fontanals-Simmons is crystalline and haunting in her delivery."
Benjamin Poore, OperaWire
"The three crucial solos are delivered with breathtaking vocal focus and physical intensity by Allan Clayton, Natalya Romaniw and Marta Fontanals-Simmons."
David Nice, The Arts Desk
"Soloists Roderick Williams and
Marta Fontanals-Simmons are
supplely heartbreaking as the
human-faerie couple, doomed by a
community’s refusal to countenance
difference. Gavin Higgins' 'The Faerie Bride'"
Steph Power, BBC Music Magazine
"If you haven’t heard Marta Fontanals-Simmons before I can assure you that she matches Williams for excellence of singing, expression and diction. Here, we have two soloists completely engaged in the music and in the story they are relating. "
