Most recent and future engagements of Rena Harms includes Madama Butterfly (title role debut) English National Opera, Arizona Opera and Opera Theatre St. Louis, AMELIA Simon Boccanegra Opéra National de Bordeaux, BEA Heggie’s Three Decembers and NELL GWYNN Floyd’s Prince of Players Florentine Opera, a revival of Der Ring des Nibelungen Grand Théâtre de Genève and Das Wunder del Heliane cover at BARD Summerscape.

Most recently she joined the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus for DONNA ELVIRA cover Don Giovanni, as well as performing HELMWIGE/cover FREIA Grand Théâtre de Genève, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony Seattle Symphony, MICAELA Carmen Florentine Opera, AMELIA Simon Boccanegra English National Opera, FIORDILIGI Così fan Tutte Staatstheater Braunschweig, DESDEMONA Otello Oldenburgishes Staatstheater and the title role in Sigfried Matthus’ Judith with Staatstheater Braunschweig and Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg.

For the Theater Basel Rena Harms has sung COUNTESS Le nozze di Figaro, DONNA ELVIRA Don Giovanni, HIGH PRIESTESS Aida and FLOWER MAIDEN Parsifal. Other engagements include title role of Fibich’s Sarka, MARENKA in The Bartered Bride and COUNTESS Le nozze di Figaro, all in new productions with Staatstheater Braunschweig as well as LIU Turandot with Florentine Opera.

She sang MIMI La bohème with Los Angeles Opera, where she completed her tenure as a member of the company’s prestigious Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program. Also a former participant in San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, where she sang DONNA ELVIRA Don Giovanni and the title role in excerpts of Arabella in concert. As an Apprentice Artist with Santa Fe Opera, she sang COUNTESS Le nozze di Figaro and BARENA in Jenufa.

She is a 2010 Grand Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, winner of the 2008 Hennings-Fischer Foundation Competition and second prize winner in the Marcello Viotti International Vocal Competition in Lausanne, Switzerland, and an encouragement award winner from the Marilyn Horne Foundation. She received her Bachelor of Music from Manhattan School of Music and attended the Music Academy of the West, where she was awarded a merit fellowship.
