David Freeman will direct a new production of Jake Heggie’s opera Dead Man Walking at the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin.
The work, which is one of the most performed new operas, premieres on the 24th January. Further performances will take place on the 26th & 30th January, then the 9th, 21st, 27th March, 10th, 12th April and 7th May. Tickets and more information can be found on the Theater Schwerin website.
Current and future engagements for Australian director David Freeman include Prokofiev’s FIERY ANGEL Teatro Regio Torino, CARMEN Royal Albert Hall in London, L’OLIMPIADE Garsington Opera and a staged version of Handel’s MESSIAH Royal Danish Opera and Oper Frankfurt.
