Current and future engagements include her main-stage debut as RED QUEEN/QUEEN OF HEARTS in Gerald Barry’s Alice’s Adventures Under Ground Royal Opera House Covent Garden which she also performs for the Irish National Opera, HERMIA in A Midsummer Night’s Dream Scottish Opera, COUNTESS SUSANNA Il segreto di Susanna and POPOVA in Walton’s The Bear for Opera Holland Park and MISS JESSEL The Turn of the Screw Royal Opera House, Linbury. She will also sing Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy, Gloria and Sanctus/Benedictus from Mass in C with Esa-Pekka Salonen conducting Philharmonia Orchestra at Royal Festival Hall. She was a Chilcott Award winner.

Recent concert engagements include Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Barbican and for the Al Bustan Festival, Canteloube’s Songs of the Auvergne Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, Mozart Requiem The Ten Tors Orchestra, Rossini’s Stabat Mater English Symphony Orchestra, as well as appearances at festivals including The Weesp Chamber Music Festival and Musique a Marsac, performing large scale concert works such as Wagner Wesendonck Lieder, Fauré La Bonne Chanson and Berlioz Les Nuits d’été.

British/Irish mezzo-soprano Clare Presland trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and was also a Britten Pears Young Artist.
