Madagascar-born Canadian soprano Yannick-Muriel Noah is recognized in Europe and North America for her sumptuous lyricism and the dramatic intensity of her portrayals. Current and most recent projects include ELVIRA Ernani, AMELIA Un ballo in Maschera, and DONNA ELIVIRA Don Giovanni Oper Bonn, ARIADNE Ariadne auf Naxos Theater Detmold, ELLEN ORFORD Peter Grimes Theater Magdeburg, and BRÜNNHILDE Die Walküre/Siegfried with the Gafa Arts Collective’s complete Ring Cycle with a Samoan twist in London.

In 2019, she was the only singer nominated twice in the Kritikerumfrage as Best Singer in North Rhine-Westphalia for EMILIA MARTY Věc Makropulos. In 2018, she was nominated as Singer of the Year in Opernwelt for her interpretation of COUNTESS ROSINE Oberst Chabert and was praised in the international press for her portrayal of the role of JENNY MARX in Jonathan Dove’s new opera Marx in London.

Yannick-Muriel Noah joined the ensemble of Theater Bonn in 2013 where she sang title roles such as Aida, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Fidelio, LIÙ Turandot, ANTIGONE in Julian Anderson’s Thebans, ODABELLA Attila, and GIORGETTA Il Tabarro. She sang ELLEN ORFORD with José Cura in his staging of Peter Grimes. Since her début as Aida in Klagenfurt in 2010, she has perfected the role in over a dozen productions. In Germany, she sang Aida at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the Staatsoper Hannover, and the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen.

Her numerous European engagements have included MARGHERITA Mefistofele in Valencia opposite Ramón Vargas and Ildar Abdrazakov, and a tour of Catalonia as Aida. She premiered Emily Hall’s Sante with Aldeburgh Productions and Almeida Theatre, sang Aida and La Wally Stadttheater Klagenfurt, and Aida Opernfestspiel Sankt Margarethen, Lyric Opera Dublin, and Theater Heidelberg. Other important past engagements were LEONORE Fidelio Daegu Opera House, Aida Michigan Opera Theatre, Madama Butterfly Canadian Opera Company, Staatsoper Hannover, and San Francisco Opera (cover), Tosca and MONA in James Rolfe’s Swoon COC, NEDDA Pagliacci Opera Lyra Ottawa, Tosca Edmonton Opera and Michel van der Aa’s After Life Melbourne Festival.

Yannick-Muriel Noah’s awards include top prizes at the following international singing competitions: Concours Musical International de Montréal, Palm Beach, Lotte Lenya, George London, Jaume Aragall, Marmande, and the prestigious Hans Gabor Belvedere. She holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Carleton University.
